5 Reasons To Watch The Entire ‘Twilight’ Saga This Week
11:30 am, November 19th | by Laura Donovan
For the past four years, one of my favorite parts of winter has been the release of new “Twilight” installments. Unfortunately, “Breaking Dawn: Part 2,” which hit theaters last week, marks the end of an era. I’m more than a little sad, as I loved defending “Twilight” to bitter haters throughout college and beyond, but Thanksgiving week is a great time to watch all the flicks marathon-style and reflect on the explosively popular franchise. Here are five reasons why now is the perfect time to see all the films.

1. You and your family can bond over loving/hating it
With your relatives in town for Thanksgiving, what better way to connect with them than through mutual adoration/hatred of something? Last night, I watched the first "Twilight" with my grandmother, as the marathon was conveniently on FX, and all she could say was, "People are in love with that guy with the messy hair?" Yeah, what of it?! When all else fails, put "Twilight" on and your family members will start talking up a storm.
2. There are lots of funny and awkward moments
Like when Edward has a spazz attack at the beginning of "Twilight" as a result of wanting to sink his teeth into Bella's neck so much. The "Twilight" films are so unintentionally funny that you'll walk out of the viewing experience with sore abs from hours of cackling.
3. There are some awesome hidden messages about fighting intolerance
The Volturi want to kill little Renesmee for being half-human, half-vampire (or as my grandma dubbed her, "vuman"), and all the good pale faces come to her rescue in "Breaking Dawn: Part 2" to protect unique folks everywhere. It's quite a valuable message on not rejecting someone simply for being different.
4. You can remember the humorous parts of the Robsten cheating scandal
Remember this ? I hated to see the media rip Kristen Stewart apart for fooling around with someone else, but it was hilarious to watch Will Ferrell cry about it.
5. It's great to watch two actors fall in love IRL
Shut up, leave me alone.
