6 Famous Females Who Have Been Wrongly Labeled ‘Overweight’

Ever since Jennifer Lawrence took on the role of “Hunger Games” heroine Katniss Everdeen, the Kentucky native has been
getting picked apart for her figure, which is full by Hollywood standards. Unsurprisingly, she’s not amused by remarks that she’s “big” or hefty. “In Hollywood, I’m obese. I’m considered a fat actress,” she divulged to Elle in their December issue. Ridiculous, right?
Unfortunately, she’s not the first healthy-looking famous figure to be unfairly scrutinized for her size. Here are some other women who have dealt with similar nonsense.
Earlier this year, some argued that Lawrence's strong build did not fit with "Hunger Games" character Katniss Everdeen's impoverished, starved lifestyle. Here's what J-Law told
Elle of the petty flak: "I’m never going to starve myself for a part… I don’t want little girls to be like, ‘Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I’m going to skip dinner.'..I eat like a caveman. I’ll be the only actress who doesn’t have anorexia rumors."
Yahoo! decided Taylor Swift was "showing off her curves" in this photo. Seriously?
Us Weekly described this photo as Megan Fox "[showing] off her newfound, curvier figure at the ‘Friends with Kids’ premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Friday." Just, no.
The "American Idol" winner has been
enduring weight criticism for a decade, and it got old very fast. She said of the noise earlier this year, "I’ve always been that kid who was chunkier than the others. I don’t think it’s fair to put that kind of pressure on girls. I’m a very normal person. I’m someone who’s sick of trying to bend to what society tries to bend you to."
The recording artist
made headlines this fall for packing on pounds. She looked fine before and after the supposed weight gain, so there's nothing to talk about here.
The "Lizzie McGuire" star has heard every
"Hilary puffs" joke in the book, and she's not laughing. After giving birth this spring, she was cyberbullied for not easing back into her pre-pregnancy body right away: "I did pilates and yoga during my pregnancy but I really missed getting my butt kicked. But then I read comments on my Twitter page about how I'm waddling into pilates and I go, 'wow, that's a really mean thing to say. I just had a baby three weeks ago!'" Ugh.
