A Reason To Move To The UK: British Men Prefer Smart Women

Sharp and successful women get the short end of the stick in our culture, but they could have better luck elsewhere. New research finds that British guys favor brainy ladies over high maintenance and party animal types.

The Lynx survey reveals that 72 percent of men are most turned on by smart women while only 6 percent go for (in their opinion) demanding sourpusses. Hard partiers are also at the bottom of the list. The nation’s perfect gal would “need to be interested in music, movies, sightseeing and traveling, and must be funny, sensitive, thoughtful and outgoing,” according to Female First. Men also like women who are funny, romantic, confident, and thoughtful. Does that sound like you? You’re in luck — you just have to move to London. No biggie.

Psychologist Dr. David Lewis explained the findings and restored my faith in humanity as such:

“The findings suggest that male and female roles are evolving as what men look for in a woman are becoming more in line with what women typically look for in a man. Although we are initially attracted to someone through physical features, it’s now more important to people that their partners are companions rather than ‘trophies.’”

With all this information in mind, I’m just one Mary-Kate and Ashley movie away from getting inspired enough to pack up my life and flee to England. Does Mr. Darcy still live there?
