Abercrombie Execs Skewered in Brutal “Situation” Vid [WATCH]
3:43 pm, August 18th | by Amy Tennery
Undoubtedly you, like the rest of the nation, has been captivated by the recent Abercrombie-Sitch debacle — we’ve enjoyed pondering the financial ramifications of this move, probing whether it was a diversionary tactic by Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries, and generally just watching as this meme unfolds. And now this news may have just officially reached meme-status: an NMA film has been produced.
What’s NMA? It’s the Taiwanese animation studio responsible for those charmingly low-tech short internet movies that chronicle the latest in viral news, including Kelly Osbourne celebrity bashing and the George Lopez show cancellation… among other things.
And their latest work is solid gold… in the most deviously humorous way possible. Opening with a scene in which The Situation does a tequila shot (after licking salt from a giant salt shaker off a woman who appears to be either dead and/or passed out), NMA weaves the narrative of the Abercrombie versus shore crisis.
The best part? When NMA brings up Abercrombie’s own less-than-savory past — specifically its legal issues stemming from employee discrimination complaints.
“In light of Abercrombie’s own egregious behavior, is a little fist-pumping all that bad?” the video asks. Good question.
A spokesperson for the animator told Mogulite that they wanted to showcase the “hypocrisy that is Abercrombie’s beef with The Situation.” What do you think? Job well done?
