Amanda Bynes’s erratic behavior continued this week, with more reports about her bizarre antics surfacing even as she faces a court hearing on Friday regarding her DUI case. Us Weekly reports:
What’s next for troubled former child star Amanda Bynes?
Not rehab, according to a Monday report by E! News. Despite her mounting legal drama and her increasingly erratic behavior (a witness recently told Us Weekly Bynes “wouldn’t stop talking to herself” during a shopping trip), a source tells the site the What a Girl Wants star has not checked into a treatment facility, nor does she have any plans to.
It’s unfortunately nothing new to see a once heavily managed and media trained star self-destruct, especially if that star is a woman. What is it about our culture that makes it so difficult for young female stars to keep it together — a lack of support? Scrutiny that their male counterparts are able to avoid? We’ve seen it with Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and now Amanda Bynes. Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake, Zac Efron, Justin Bieber and all of the Jonas brothers have made it into young adulthood with their sanity seemingly intact.
An unfortunate side effect of this phenomenon is that a star’s career can become obscured by their personal difficulties (especially one who, like Bynes, has worked inconsistently or not at all in recent years. Or one who, like Bynes, “retired” from acting and then announced her “un-retirement” on Twitter in a span of just a few months). In an effort to counteract that, let’s take a quick glance back at Bynes’s highlights. Hopefully the difficulty she’s having now gets resolved, but even if it doesn’t she’s had an amazing career, and much of it before the age of 20. Take a look.
That is the best cheerleading slogan that I have ever heard that I am sure no one would ever want, haha…
I agree that it’s unfortunate that this has become a trend and I would blame it mostly on the INTENSE public scrutiny these women face coupled with a lack of authority figure in their lives at a crucial stage. Or they surround themselves with Yes-people, like Elvis and George Lucas.

she was not on all that in 2005, that was after they got a new cast and tried to revamp, also what math are you using, that would be 11 yeaes

You’re right! The original dates were the run of the show (’94-’05) and not the six years that Bynes was on the show (’96-’02). Still an impressive run. Thank you for spotting the error!
