An Interview With the Male Founder of a Women’s Magazine

Say there was a well-connected man out there in the wheelin’-and-dealin’ world of publishing who seemed to think that certain websites, like, oh, I don’t know, College Humor, Business Insider, ESPN, Mashable, and Grantland, were just for men. Say this man believed that a women’s publication that “puts world news and politics alongside beauty tips” didn’t exist, even though Jezebel, The Hairpin, xoJane, and this website right here are all real things. Say this man then had a 6,000-word New Yorker profile in which he admitted to not reading books, his website’s headquarters were described as being decorated in a “funky flea-market style,” and the main photo showed him surrounded by a bevy of women while he used one lady’s legs as a desk. Surely this man, who I would want to make my personal enemy, this man who I would want to live in mortal terror of me, wouldn’t raise a million dollars to build a women’s publication! Oh, he would raise $6.5 million? Of course!
Since we have to laugh at Bryan Goldberg or else we’ll cry, we’re glad The Hairpin shared this video of the hilarious Eudora Peterson playing the male CEO of a women’s magazine. In the future, before we read any Bustle-related news, we’ll be sure to have two sherries. Two sherries for us. [Laughter]
