Ann Coulter On Breitbart: “Even In Death, He Shows Liberals In Their True Colors”
4:00 pm, March 3rd | by Laura Donovan
Conservative pundit Ann Coulter said the late Andrew Breitbart, who died early Thursday morning, continues to fight liberals during her Friday appearance on Sean Hannity’s television program.
Addressing the stream of negative commentary on Breitbart that hit the Internet almost immediately after the conservative activist’s unexpected death, Coulter said critics have argued that Breitbart reacted to Senator Ted Kennedy’s passing by declaring the deceased politician “a special pile of human excrement.”
“The defense of these attacks has been, that when Teddy Kennedy died, Andrew Breitbart called him something like a piece of human excrement, but in Andrew’s defense, he was a piece of human excrement,” Coulter said. “And also all you get for…when someone who has actually killed a girl, are ‘Oh you know the line of the Senate, he was a saint.’ …There’s no negative press throughout [Kennedy's] life, so I think a little push back, not a push back, but in the alternative media what Andrew Breitbart said, is not so shocking. With Breitbart, it not like [he didn't have] people denouncing him every second of every day. He used to retweet all of the bile that was sent his way.”
Stating there’s a double standard in the media between conservatives and liberals, Hannity played a clip of TV personality Bill Maher making a joke about trading
“The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck for CBS chief foreign affairs correspondent Lara Logan, who was reporting in Egypt at the time and the victim of sexual assault.
“I must say it’s like it’s Andrew Breitbart’s last trick,” Coulter said of some of the reaction to Breitbart’s death. “He loved ginning up liberals…he played this jiu jitsu with them, as do I, but he got them to say the most shocking things and that’s why most people like me who follow him on Twitter had to turn off the retweet function because you’d open up your Twitter page and be full of things that rhyme with ‘mockbucker.’…But he loved it, and here even here in death he shows liberals in their true colors.”
