CBS To Air ‘Hawaii Five-0′ Rerun Instead Of Ann Romney’s RNC Address
12:15 pm, August 23rd | by Laura Donovan
Are you like, DYING to see Ann Romney’s RNC speech next week? I hate to burst your bubble, fangirls, but unless you attend the actual event, you may not able to watch the potential first lady deliver her speech. Several networks only plan on airing an hour of the convention and will cut off the broadcast before Ms. Romney is set to take the stage.
What will they be showing instead? Depends on the channel. CBS will play a “Hawaii Five-O” rerun, NBC will have on a new episode of “Grimm,” and ABC is scheduled to play mystery series, “Castle.” Sounds like an exciting roundup, but incomparable to Romney’s address. In all seriousness, the Romney campaign is considering moving Ms. Romney’s speech to another night, but they’re all sticking with the original agenda for now.
Oddly enough, NBC will be a little more generous with Obama’s team. The network will allot two hours to President Barack Obama and Joe Biden on Thursday night. So what gives? As the New York Times points out, people aren’t all that jazzed about political coverage, so the networks may just be trying to keep their viewers’ happiness in mind by turning off their cameras early and heading home before the night is over.
