In Brief
The Only Time You’ll Ever See ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ And ‘Fuzzy Socks’ In The Same Sentence

You don’t need to be a dedicated “Sex and the City” fan to know that its main character, Carrie Bradshaw is all about fashion, but AnnaSophia Robb, the girl who portrays a younger version of the journalist on “The Carrie Diaries,” may very well prefer comfort over style.
Gearing up for the release of “The Carrie Diaries,” the SATC prequel that premieres in Manhattan tomorrow, lead actress Robb told the Hollywood Reporter that the number one thing on her travel must-have list is a pair of fuzzy socks, which are actually quite useful this time of year (and also during the summer after you’ve applied lotion to your cracked feet. I know, I’m gross, but why not get more bang for your buck #cheapskate?). Actual Carrie Bradshaw would probably scoff in the direction of fuzzy socks, which have never been known to inspire sexual trysts or help a woman become the ultimate fashion icon, but Robb is only 18, so if she wants to live up to grown-up Bradshaw, she has plenty of time to ditch the socks in favor of chic slippers or something. Think I’m overreacting? In the first “Sex and the City” film, Carrie has a $300 pillow, so you bet she’d have $500 Louboutin slippers (does that designer even make slippers? Calling all fashionista!) around the apartment…
Robb is no newbie to clumsiness either, as she has had a many style faux pas since moving to NYC:
Recently my scarf got caught in my bag and I struggled for a while trying to get it out and missed the subway.
Sounds slightly similar to the “Carrie Diaries” book plot. In the novel, on which the new program is based, young Bradshaw gets robbed outside of Penn Station. Whether you’re the victim of a mugging or chasing after zooming subways, you’re going to have a rough time adapting to the concrete jungle, and in an odd way, it’s comforting to learn that Robb is acclimating to this wild place in a similar way to her unassuming, green character, who will struggle to tackle NYC’s insanity in the show.
