Even Anne Hathaway Gets Starstruck

Anne Hathaway continues to receive praise for her performance in “Les Misèrables,” but the acting feedback she’s most excited about comes from none other than President Barack Obama, who she endorsed last year.

Upon learning that our nation’s leader described her role as Catwoman as “spectacular…the best thing in” summer 2012′s “The Dark Knight Rises,” a flushed Hathaway told The Telegraph, “It’s the most powerful review I’ve ever got. President Obama knows my name.”

We’re guessing the positive remarks helped make up for the hellish process the celebrity endured when preparing for the film. To appear svelte in the signature tight black cat suit, Hathaway hired nutrition coach Jackie Keller, who put the actress on a 1500-1800 calorie per day diet, among other things. It doesn’t seem nearly as intense as the trouble Hathaway went through to look the part for “Les Miserable,” in which she portrays a severely impoverished prostitute who sells her hair for money. The 30-year-old feasted off hummus and radish to look “near death,” losing 25 pounds. Though it wasn’t easy to do that to her body, Hathaway said of her role as Fantine, “I thought she was a part that deserved everything.”

Ah shucks, Anne, that’s a sweet thing to say, but really though, you deserve everything — including the approval of Obama. Expect many more warm fuzzies from him in the future.
