You've Got To Be Kidding
France Votes DSK’s Wife “Woman Of The Year.” Um, What?
2:20 pm, December 19th | by Hillary Reinsberg
France’s woman of the year is…Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s wife?
Strauss-Kahn’s wife Anne Sinclair stood by her husband (mostly) as he was accused of sexual assault and involvement in prostitution rings. Make of that what you will. Sinclair did have her own career as a successful TV personality, but somehow we think her marriage to the former IMF head as he achieved global notoriety is probably what tipped the scales.
For that, or some other mysterious reason, the good people of France went and voted her France’s woman of the year in 2011. Thank goodness it was only an online poll. But still.
She managed to beat out Jane Dough favorite Christine Lagarde, who actually, you know, took over the IMF after Strauss-Kahn got the boot for his allegedly bad behavior. And she also beat out Carla Bruni! What the heck?
Whatever. Here’s a photo of Lagade and Bruni being all, “Who cares about some online poll?”
Just kidding. Lagarde is actually in Abuja today talking (and taking awesome photos) with Nigeria’s president.
