Just Because It’s Thanksgiving Doesn’t Mean People Can’t Still Be Terrible To Their Fellow Human Beings

Hey guys, just in case you thought that the upcoming holiday season (and the recent natural disaster that was Hurricane Sandy) might be encouraging people to treat each other with a little more dignity and respect, you’re going to have to reconcile that nice thought with this guy:
Applebee’s is looking into a complaint that an overweight waitress received a check from a customer Sunday night that stated in the tip line: “Stop eating, b—ch!”
The incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. at the Applebee’s at 1045 U.S. 1 and involved a customer seated alone who ordered $30 worth of food and paid with a Visa card.
The unidentified customer left zeros in the tip line, then printed the offensive statement above in capital letters.
A friend of the waitress posted a photo of the receipt online, where it drew hundreds of responses within hours.
This photo, via Reddit, is of the receipt in question:
If there was any justice in the world, this dude (who is clearly a health and fitness guru and must have wandered into Applebee’s by mistake and then accidentally eaten $30 worth of food, which is hard to do all on your own!) would be visited by the ghosts of his Past, Present, and very fat Future, and he would eventually learn to be respectful of people working in the service industry and also to treat people’s bodies with dignity (or at the very least not comment on them in public). It would air on ABC Family every year and it would be awesome. This is the real world, though, so the best we can hope for is a semi-public shaming on the internet. Here’s hoping!
