April Bloomfield On Posing With A Dead Pig: “It’s Quite Feminine”
5:48 pm, March 6th | by Hillary Reinsberg
With her restaurants like The Spotted Pig, The John Dory, and The Breslin (called just today “Wall Street’s favorite restaurant”), April Bloomfield has made a name for herself as New York’s lord of the gastropub. (Have you tried this woman’s burger? Do it.)
Only a lady that cool could throw a whole dead pig over her shoulders and call it “feminine.”
Bloomfield recently released a cookbook, in which she’s posed on the cover with a pig draped over her shoulders. She tells Grub Street:
“I think it’s very dramatic, it’s very eye-catching … It’s a fun cover…It’s quite feminine which is nice, but strong … it’s a book about a pig not a pork chop, so if I wrote a book about a pork chop I’d probably be holding a pork chop.”
