Get Some Sleep Before You Wake Up In Blood As Overtired Arianna Huffington Once Did

For quite some time, Arianna Huffington has been open about her love for all things-rest related. She describes herself as a “sleep evangelist,” encourages ”[sleeping] your way to the top,” and provides nap rooms for her employees. But how did her love for sleep arise? From a rather dangerous injury that could have ended much worse than it did, says the news powerhouse.
In a new blog post on her site, Huffington recounts the moment she knew she needed more shut eye. One night four years ago, she returned home from a college tour with her daughter and decided to catch up on work:
“Next thing I knew, I was lying on the floor, bloodied. I had passed out from exhaustion and banged my head on the way down. The result was a broken cheekbone and five stitches under my eyebrow. And it was also a wake-up call, leading me to renew my estranged relationship with sleep.”
Don’t learn the hard way that you’re overtired and overworked. Get some more sleep before you wake up in a pool of your own blood.
