Barbara Bush Is So Over The Election And You Should Be, Too

Romney vs. Obama? In the words of former pop princess Hilary Duff, that was like, “so yesterday.” Former FLOTUS Barbara Bush echoed the ex-Disney actress at a recent forum on first ladies, stating that we really need to shut up about the election and stay in the present.

“I’m tired now of the elections,” the 87-year-old Romney supporter, who is known for being outspoken and saying exactly what’s on her mind, admitted. “People spoke. Move on, get on with it. I want to do other things and not to be ugly.”

Preaching to the choir here! Don’t think this burnout is new for her, either. Bush has been feeling this way long before tearful Abigael Evans famously lamented that she was tired of “Bronco Bama and Mitt Romney.”

In March, Bush said at a Southern Methodist University conference that the election had “the worst campaign [she'd] ever seen in [her] life.” She reportedly received a lot of applause for the bleak comment, but now Obama vs. Romney is finally a past time — one that would best be forgotten — she is ready to put the negativity behind her and focus on other things. She should just be glad her son is no longest the nation’s biggest punching bag, now that seems worse than simply enduring an uninspiring election!
