Barbara Bush On 2012: “The Worst Campaign I’ve Ever Seen In My Life”

The power of positive thinking is over-rated sometimes.
So seems to be the mindset of former first lady Barbara Bush, who said Monday that the presidential election is the “worst” she has witnessed in her 86 years on earth.
“I think it’s been the worst campaign I’ve ever seen in my life,” she said at a Southern Methodist University conference on the impact of the country’s first ladies.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Barbara’s comment received applause from the roughly 300 audience members in attendance. As some have pointed out, the GOP presidential contenders are hardly promising, but Bush’s cynicism comes just days after she did a robocall for Republican candidate Mitt Romney, and when we learned of her participation in it, we were astounded that the fiery, spunky New Yorker managed not to say anything disparaging about the robocall subject. I guess it was only a matter of time — or rather, 48 hours — before she revealed her true feelings about the campaign.
