Friday Flashback: Bill Gates Predicts “Software Stores” In 1977 [VIDEO]

We enjoy following the current day-to-day lives of the rich and powerful. But sometimes it’s fun to look back and remember how those moguls ended up where they are today. Each Friday, we’ll dig up a vintage video starring your favorite movers and shakers in their younger days.
Today: Bill Gates’ first TV interview, 1977.
Earlier this week, Bill Gates talked about life as a billionaire. It’s nice to have money, he said, but having a couple million is just as good as having $56 billion. Accordingly, we thought it would be apropos to take today’s look back at Bill before he was a billionaire.
Here’s (apparently) Gates’ first TV interview, in 1977, focused on ”the home computing phenomenon.” Ha.
Gates has some real soothsaying abilities with this quote: “There are people forecasting that there will be software stores, just like there are record stores today.” Indeed, there will be!
