Restaurant Releases Rihanna-Inspired “Black And Bleu” Sandwich

Bad: Releasing a sandwich called the “Black and Bleu.” Incredibly awful: Claiming that it was inspired by Rihanna. Truly, awfully awful: Coupling it with the caption, “Chris Brown won’t beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with an R and ends with A.”
And yet, this just happened.
A Georgia restaurant called Chops & Hops is under fire after releasing its own Caribbean chicken “Black and Bleu” sandwich, which it claims was inspired by a high-profile domestic violence case, according to NYDN. But as befuddling and enraging as this callous joke is, the restaurant’s response to the public outcry was, perhaps, even more perplexing:
“The owners of C&H would like to make sure everyone knows that we and our staff DO NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.”
You hear that? They don’t support domestic violence — they just think it’s hilarious! Big difference.
The sandwich has been pulled from the menu, even though Chops & Hops totally wasn’t, you know, condoning domestic violence — it was just saying it’s cool to giggle about it once and a while and maybe, I dunno, make a quick buck off it. Glad we’re clear on that.
