Where Was Our Invitation To Blake Lively And Ryan Reynold’s Weekend Wedding?

With “Gossip Girl” ending and Serena van der Woodsen becoming more insufferable by the episode, it makes sense that actress Blake Lively decided to get hitched and simultaneously break away from the teen drama world.
Lively, who turned 25 less than a month ago, reportedly tied the knot with “Green Lantern” co-star Ryan Reynolds in Mount Pleasant, S.C., over the weekend. Though reps for the couple have yet to respond to comment requests on the nuptials ceremony, sources have confirmed to several media outlets that the wedding did indeed take place on Sunday. Lively and Reynolds have only been together a year and it hasn’t even been two years since the demise of the male celebrity’s marriage to Scarlett Johansson, but as some say, when it’s right, why wait?
Designer Christian Louboutin, with whom Lively has said she’s close, was reportedly in attendance for the happy gathering. This comes as no surprise, as the California native said earlier this year that she wanted Louboutin to make shoes for her wedding. She told Marie Claire:
“Maybe it sounds jerky but I’m lucky to be on such a fashion-centric show ["Gossip Girl"]. There’s no designer I don’t have access to.”
I’m green with lantern envy, but so very happy for my fellow Los Angeles-born lady, who hasn’t exactly had it easy in the game of love. For several years, she was linked to fellow “Gossip Girl” cast member Penn Badgley, who is now with singer Lenny Kravitz’s Williamsburg-loving daughter Zoe. Lively, who hasn’t really been without a significant other in her adult life, is a relationship person. She explained to Elle in February:
“I’ve had four boyfriends in my whole life. I’ve never been with anyone that’s not a boyfriend. If I spend time with a man, it’s because there’s somebody that I know well who has been a friend for a while.”
After Lively and Badgley ended things, she began seeing childhood crush Leonardo DiCaprio, but that didn’t last long. Unknown to many, her first boyfriend was Kelly Blatz, whom she’d liked romantically since childhood: She told the Boston Herald in 2005:
“I’ve had a crush on him since second grade. He finally came around this year.”
Reynolds was once engaged to musician Alanis Morissette and had a brief marriage with Johansson, who has since been spotted with Sean Penn and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, to name a few.
Earlier this year, Reynolds and Lively purchased a home in Bedford, N.Y., and now we know why.
