Botox Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary With Utterly Bizarre ‘Inner Beauty’ Contest

Take out your party hats and get ready to have a good time because this week marks the 10-year anniversary of the FDA’s approval of Botox for cosmetic purposes. Just make sure not to go so crazy that you regret anything from the night before; you don’t want to end up with stress wrinkles, do you?
To mark this momentous occasion– Botox has become, after all, a billion dollar a year industry– the company is seeking “Women Just Like You” who put their best face forward every day and inspire everyone around them. Literally. They want you to send in a picture of your “best face” and say how, essentially, the newly gained confidence you received by suddenly being wrinkle-free has prompted you to do awesome things for your community and the people in your life.
Well, it’s definitely an interesting marketing approach. And, while there are some folks who hate on people who get cosmetic surgery, there are others, like me, who say: to each his or her own. If a little tweaking makes you feel more confident, that’s great. But just please– please, I beg of you– don’t end up looking like an emotionless blob. It’s called moderation, people.
