Maryland Republicans ended all county money for a low-income kids’ preschool program. Why? No need, they said. Women should really be home with the kids, not out working.

At the federal level, Republicans want tocut that same program, Head Start, by $1 billion. That means over 200,000 kids could lose their spots in preschool.

Two-thirds of the elderly poor are women, and Republicans are taking aim at them too. A spending bill would cut funding for employment services, meals, and housing for senior citizens.

Congress voted for a Republican amendment to cut all federal funding from Planned Parenthood health centers, one of the most trusted providers of basic health care and family planning in our country.

And if that wasn’t enough, Republicans are pushing to eliminate all funds for the only federal family planning program. (For humans. But Republican Dan Burton has a bill to provide contraception for wild horses. You can’t make this stuff up).

Republicans are fighting against equal pay for women. These things are just the tip of the iceberg. They want to force women to their ideological beliefs by not letting them have control over their own bodies and decisions. Now what was it you said again about ME warring on women?

Todd is a different matter though.  Todd was accused of heading up a prostitution ring in Alaska by Shailey Tripp.  She was a prostitute he frequented in Alaska.  The evidence to prove this was seized by the APD when Shailey was arrested for prostitution.  The charges were dropped and the judge ordered the Anchorage Police Department to return her belongings. 

Shailey, her attorney, and friends asked for the return of her items, her cell phone and laptop, for weeks after the judges ruling.  Instead, on Sept 14, 2011, they destroyed them.  It was interesting they only destroyed the items that had the information on it that could prove what she was saying, namely, the cell phone and the laptop.  They returned her credit card machine.

But since she wasn’t really pregnant (weird how nobody working for Alaska Air noticed any kind of pregnant belly and nobody had to get her a seat extender), Trig wasn’t really in any danger.

BTW — what kind of doctor tells a woman carrying her 7th pregnancy to just ignore what might be signs of early labor? This isn’t about Sarah’s health only, remember? Losing amniotic fluid early can kill or horribly cripple a developing fetus. 

I know, because a friend of mine gave birth to a horribly deformed child after discovering that she hadn’t had any amniotic fluid for the previous couple of weeks. Fortunately for the child, it died. I say “it,” because one of the many things that went wrong was non-differentiation of the genitals. Many organs were outside of its body, as well.

45 having a baby is a risk to the child not the mother. She had 2 miscarriages not several. She was 8a months pregnant she was well past the point of a miscarriage which if occurred it would be a premature birth. Her doctor knew her well and probably knew she had time.  Can’t reply to lorenzini comment about high risk for some reason.  But to reply to the, ‘Down Syndrome is not high risk’, I’d like to say, her high risk was:

1. Trig had a hole in his heart that is common with Down Syndrome.  Supposedly, Sarah knew about it due to a ultrasound.

2. He was premature.  With a hole in his heart.  Double whammy.

3. She said she was leaking amniotic fluid.  You never get on a plane leaking amniotic fluid. 

4.  You said, “She knows her body.”  Yeah, right.  Well, as a nurse, I can tell you that you can have four different pregnancies, all of them take the same amount of time with labor, then another one just taking a hour or two, or less.  There is no way to predict it!

5.  When the plane landed, they bypassed the only hospital, Providence, with a high risk neonatal unit.  A hospital that was only 6 miles from the hospital, and one where her doctor, Cathy Baldwin-Johnson, had active staff privileges, to drive another hour to a small regional hospital.  One with only 39 beds and did not deliver high risk pregnancies. 

Of course, if she wasn’t pregnant, none of those things would matter.  She was just there to pick up a delivery.

If it’s not true, why wouldn’t the men from the APD & AST, along with Todd Palin and several ABI members sue Shailey Tripp for libel?  She used their first and last names in her book and yet they said nothing? I can’t imagine anyone letting that slide unless complaining about it would bring too much light to the topic and bring up more unanswered questions.  Shailey still has emails from Todd referring to the business he ran, bank deposit slips that were made by him and there are other women and men he recruited into the prostitution ring that are more than willing to testify against him and the others involved.  Nothing will be done as long as so many of these people involved remain in elected office or high-level corporate positions in Alaska that are big donors for political positions.

Being multiparous past the age of 35 are two risk factors.  Having the 2 “miscarriages” is a third.  Her announced due date was supposedly late May 2008, so prematurity was the 4th risk factor.  The DS/heart anomaly of the fetus were the 5th and 6th risk factors.  The alleged ruptured membranes was the 7th.

I find it puzzling that Sarah Palin apologists are so casual about Palin’s and her doctor’s blithe dismissal of these 7 risk factors, as if it was no big deal.
