We’ve Reached Maximum Capacity: Congresswoman Spoofs ‘Call Me Maybe’
11:15 am, July 2nd | by Laura Donovan
Like a brooding 16-year-old boy, I’m mad at the world right now. And by world, I mean Internet (same difference), which has totally ruined Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” for me. Our culture apparently cannot take anything in moderation anymore, as proven by Rep. Loretta Sanchez’s new “Call Me Maybe” spoof.
As if we don’t have enough “Call Me Maybe” copycats. Please stop before you make the adorable Carly Rae Jepsen, who has waited years for her career to take off, more insufferable than her bangs. I hate to blame her for the obnoxious reception to her catchy song, which I enjoyed before everyone gagged me to death with it, but upon seeing Rep. Sanchez’s video, I only have one thing to say to the pop princess: Call me never.
