Of Course Carly Rae Jepsen Can’t Actually Relate to ‘Call Me Maybe’

Ah, “Call Me Maybe.” The hyper bubbly pop hit that just won’t. freaking. die. Perhaps this is the reason it continues to go strong even though it has been ruined by the media: The singer Carly Rae Jepsen hasn’t actually experienced the teenage rite of passage of giving a person she likes her phone number.

Chatting with the Associated Press, the smoky-eyed brunette said she has never offered her digits to a guy:

“I’ve done brave things for love before or for the possibility of the idea of love, but I’ve never quite done that…and I’m pretty sure now that I never can because that would be really, really awkward.”

Probably because you’re 26 and falsely represent something most go through at 15. “Call Me Maybe” is fun, but clearly you can’t relate to it, so just don’t even bother anymore. Be glad your other tune is much less polarizing.
