Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael are DINKS

While Happy Endings is tragically off the air (CURSE YOU, AMERICA!), it appears that Casey Wilson is in it for the long haul and is staying the hell in Dodge, which is great news for everyone, particularly ABC execs who would’ve had to face my fiery wrath otherwise. The release of Ass Backwards, the independent comedy Wilson co-wrote and co-starred in with friend and hilarious lady June Diane Raphael, is looming on the horizon and the duo already have another project in the pipeline: Wilson and Raphael have sold a half-hour pilot pitch to ABC with a pilot production commitment. Is this the time to play “Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves“? (JK. It’s always the time. I know that.)
The show, which is in development for next season, is called DINKS, an acronym for “double income, no kids”, and focuses on a thirty-something couple who, clearly, have no children. According to the script deal, Raphael will star in the project; while there is not yet a deal for Wilson to appear in the show, there is always a possibility that she will come out from behind-the-scenes. (Cross your fingers!) Happy Endings showrunner Jonathan Groff will act as executive producer.
We have high hopes for a series developed by Wilson and Raphael — the pair, who met in a clown class at NYU, have been working together for years, from the stage at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater to the creation of the feature Bride Wars. These ladies have more comedic chemistry than you can shake a stick at.
