Whoa! Einhorn Is Not Buying The Mets
11:48 am, September 1st | by Hillary Reinsberg
And then we all let out a collective, “WHAT?!” So, now David Einhorn is not buying the Mets. The hedge fund billionaire was on track to pay $200 million for a minority stake in the team, which would provide the cash-strapped team with some much-needed funds. But the deal has fallen through.
“After months of negotiations, the parties were unable to reach agreement, and the Mets ownership has decided to explore other options,” the Mets said in a statement issued today. It appears that the Mets are now in a better situation financially. After having lost money with Bernie Madoff, the team was in dire financial straits for a while. 10:49 am, August 14th | by Hillary Reinsberg
The name “Bloomberg” tends to pop up almost every five minutes doing what we do. Whether it’s reading one of the many news sources or watching the TV station that bears his name, or writing about the companies decorated with the information terminals that he thought up. Or there’s also the fact that he’s the 10th richest guy in America, worth over $18 billion – and also happens to be the mayor of New York City. Despite all that, current New York Jets player and former New York Giants player Plaxico Burress has no idea who Michael Bloomberg is.

Phil Anschutz: LA’s Ultimate Sports Lord. If You Can Find Him A Football Team.
1:12 pm, August 10th | by Hillary Reinsberg
Phil Anschutz already has a pretty tight hold on LA’s sports scene – he owns parts of the LA Lakers, the LA Kings, the Staples Center and the Home Depot Center. Now, he’s got the okay to take it a step further. He’s building a football stadium in the city. The only problem: he needs to find a team to play there.
LA’s city council voted to allow Anshutz to build a $1.4 billion stadium and convention center. Super. But before they get started, according to Bloomberg, the project will have to be approved by environmental agencies…and of course, Anschutz will need to find a team.
Ah, a football team. Shouldn’t be too hard to get a hold of one of those, right?
