The 13 Summer Movies We Can’t Wait To See

meryl streep

Like you, The Jane Dough will likely spend its summer feverishly searching for any available air conditioned enclosure (why wouldn’t we?). And sure, both TJD editors braved the very toasty southwestern quadrant of the U.S. for college — but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate a frosty cold movie theater.

But we won’t settle for just any old flick — here are the 13 summer movies we can’t wait to see.

Go ahead, laugh. I don’t care. I completely and totally love “Working Girl,” without a hint of irony. And all off the awfulness that happens to Melanie Griffith in that movie (evil boss, gross Kevin Spacey, gross Alec Baldwin) is made completely worthwhile by A) Joan Cusack, playing “The Best-Best Friend Ever” and B) The end of the movie, which I have included below.

Thanks to popular demand (i.e. one TJD reader suggestion), we’re examining “The Associate” today, which has one of the most satisfying endings to a movie ever. (Except for “Working Girl,” which if you don’t like it probably means you have wretch of tangled nettles where your heart should be. Anyway. I digress.)
