It’s a fairly unexpected move: Goldman Sachs Chairman CEO Lloyd Blankfein is standing up for same-sex marriage. Some critics are lauding him for supporting a liberal cause in a conservative industry, while others are saying Goldman might lose clients as a result. With all due respect to Blankfein and his clout, we’d be surprised if his statement really ruffled that many feathers either way.

Working in finance pretty much bites for everyone this year. First there’s the matter of that whole “occupy” thing and reports about how godawful it is to be a banker just keep cropping up. Meanwhile roughly 200,000 people in the financial sector are expected to lose their jobs before the end of the year, and it’s a safe bet that (out of those lucky few who get to stick around) not a lot of people are getting promotions like they used to.

But yet another report shows that while it stinks for everyone, it’s an especially big bummer to be a woman in finance. Oh joy.

There’s been a good deal of hype around the premise of “Wall Street Wives” in and of itself. That hype just got bigger, as the show’s creator confirmed the cast to Mogulite and told us that one of the “wives” is in fact a gay husband.

We spoke with the show’s creator Devon Fleming, who confirmed that the show has cast a man named Ron, who is, like the wives, married to a male Wall Street exec.

The guy who “does God’s work” has collided head-first with the people who actually do God’s work. Awkward.

The cast for Wall Street Wives, the Real Housewives-esque show about the wives of finance types, was announced over the summer. It didn’t feature anyone all that exciting. Until now.

As you’ve heard by now, Wall Street firm MF Global went bankrupt and CEO Jon Corzine is out of a job. As of today, so are over 1,000 other people.

The firm fired 1,066 of its employees today — not a huge shock as the company liquidates.
