Is Chelsea Handler Catnip to Moguls?

It seems that some people just have a type — for better or for (much) worse. Trust us on this one.

And while she may not be a mogul herself, Chelsea Handler absolutely loves the mogul inner circle. And it would seem the mogul inner circle loves her!

The late-night funny gal has apparently been dating hotel mogul Andre Balazs for about four months, according to the New York Daily News. At first we thought this was sort of an odd pairing — Handler’s known for her madcap humor and raunchy sensibilities, whereas Balazs seems sort of… more subdued?

Then we remembered the other high-profile people she’s dated. It started to seem less weird.

Remember when it was reported that Handler was dating hip-hop mogul 50 Cent? And remember how everyone thought that was just an odd, funny rumor? Well, it wasn’t! Neither one ever technically confirmed that they were in a relationship, but Handler “>did say that they were paired up at one point.

Her most significant mogul relationship? Hands down, it was Ted Harbert. Handler and the Comcast Entertainment Group CEO dated for about four years, before splitting in early 2010. While we can’t be 100 percent sure what caused the breakup, Handler writing this little gem on Harbert in one of her books probably didn’t help much:

“My boyfriend is similar to a large toddler … He’s very animated and has a lot of energy and wants to exert it all at the same time on a variety of activities. It’s not a secret this can be incredibly annoying.”

Ouch.
