Chris Brown Quits Twitter After Female Comedian Picks Fight With Him
9:30 am, November 26th | by Laura Donovan
For someone who has been skewered by the media and world for more than three years for beating his girlfriend, Chris Brown seems somewhat thin-skinned. The rapper, whose Twitter account disappeared last night after he’d gotten into one of those oh-so awesome tweet feuds with comedian Jenny Johnson, is using one less social media outlet and has been once again silenced for his abusive actions.
It all started when Brown tweeted, “I look old as fuck! I’m only 23…,” prompting Johnson to write, “I know! Being a worthless piece of shit can really age a person.” The young guy took this to heart, as his response for the comedian was:
Kind of an overreaction, no? As one would expect, it got more uncomfortable and actually made both fighters look immature:
Johnson is now receiving death threats via Twitter, because that’s how Twitter users react to a major music star stepping down from the site. Bottom line: Johnson went after Brown because he refuses to show sympathy for battering his former flame Rihanna a couple years back, and he thought she needed to worry about her own life and talk about something else. His final round of tweets before disappearing from the site tell us about as much:
Happy Monday.
Brown leaving Twitter helped me realize a few things: for starters, Brown (and Rihanna) would like everyone to move on from his infamous beating incident. Two, he’s not above Twitter battles and this inability to restrain himself is costing him a lot. Three, I’m not sure I like Johnson either. She engaged in a childish Internet conversation with someone she knew wasn’t dignified enough to have a civil discussion and is now being framed as a hero. Sorry, but heros aren’t born from apparently winning Twitter wars and getting tactless dudes to leave one social media platform (and considering Brown’s ego, he’ll return someday). They just aren’t.
