Should You Even Bother Going To College Anymore? [Infographic]

We’re not trying to be defeatist. But with the rising costs of tuition, growing unemployment rate, even among high-skilled trades and general crumminess of spending four years without an income, a question prevails: Is college even worth it anymore?

From a financial standpoint, thankfully, the answer is still yes. A new report shows that while college students are at a financial disadvantage compared to non-college-degree-holders immediately after school, ultimately they catch up. In fact, according to this report’s estimate, it’s worth upwards of $800,000 over the course of your career.

Verdict: College is worth it. If you can handle wearing sandals in the shower for four years.

I don’t know… I went to college. Earned a B.A. at one of the top universities in the world. I was an honors student, I studied abroad, and I was in the sciences. Four years, and the only job I’ve been able to get is a job as a cashier at Disneyland. I make barely above minimum wage, work horrible hours and get treated badly. I admit, I spend a lot of time wondering what the point of college was. I certainly haven’t seen the financial benefits yet.
