Thanks for your response. I’m not sure what other conservatives would say on the matter, but I think most would agree this is unusual. 

I’m a 38 year old male, why am I denied the right to join the Girl Scouts?!? :’-( Seriously, The Girl Scouts brought this on themselves.

I still will buy their cookies. They are pretty darn good, kind of expensive, but I think as a whole, they are a good organization. If this is his personal opinion, he should keep it to himself. He’s not doing himself any favors by attacking an organization like this.

I’m with you on the cookies front! They’re delicious, albeit pricey, but a worthwhile annual indulgence. I gained a lot from GSA: friendship in addition to  conflict management skills. It’s beneficial to learn to work with a team early in life. 

every time i think these conservatives can’t get any weirder another nutball pops up and surprises me. the girl scouts do a lot more good than the congressman does. and a lot cheaper!

 Yes, we had some who actually ran (and a couple, I must admit, won) in some Cali elections. All I can say is, I’m not a native here, but we had some hometown embarrassments, too. (My head hangs low..hometown is DC, at least we have great historical places!).

It’s all true.  There was some dust up recently where they gave the girl scouts “Guides to the Media” and gave Media Matters as a source for Fact Checking.  And it is true that Planned Parenthood has gotten the Scouts as well.  Liberalism has no place in decent society and certainly no place in Girl Scouts.  The congressman was correct in taking a stand.

You know what’s sad? Over 40 years ago, I was a first class girl scout.  I worked hard to get merits and badges, and in the meantime I met many other scouts from all over the world.  We had good times, and there were no references to sexuality or homosexuality.  We were in a wonderful club who actually gave much of their own time volunteering for charities, and helping those who could not help themselves by collecting food and raising money through yard sales, breakfasts, and cleaning public parks, etc.
Yes, times have changed.  Even after 40 years the overall message is this-by working together, things can always get better, and we made our mark on helping and being there for othrs in need, and there is nothing that can bend the pride of the girlscouts.  This is not a homosexual or feminist club.  Just because one feels he or she should get in because of a sexual preference, this can do no good to others who want to keep Girl Scouts he way its been for 100 years. 

Actually, liberal societies are the only decent ones around.  They are for the good of everyone, not just the elite few. An elite which is defined almost exclusively by money. Or being born into the *lucky sperm club.* I realize that conservative are against actual facts= – and fact checking -  as verifiable facts have a liberal bias.

Extreme liberalism and extreme leftist countries like N. Korea go hand in hand. Liberal society by itself is not enough. We need a country that is compassionate yet has a foundation is sound principles for living. Planned parenthood is none of the above and has no place in even teach sound health practices. There main objective in life is the abortion of unwanted babies. A return to sound moral and ethical principles is lacking. I would not include by daughter in such a group

Only 3 % of planned parenthood concerns abortion. The remainder helps people who can’t afford proper health care, or afford breast exams, have  prenatal care so they’ll have a healthy child & no, I don’t mean prenatal care that “always ends in abortion” like your insane, frothing at the mouth santorum seems to think.
