Adventures In Stock Photography: Couples Fighting Over Money

Nearly half of all couples in a web poll conducted via several websites admitted to keeping financial secrets from their significant other. The same respondents also made a link between lying about finances and extramarital affairs. The Guardian reported:

The Today show’s website, Today.com, and SELF magazine jointly surveyed their thousands of website visitors on all questions of dishonesty for their ‘Financial Infidelity’ report.

The analysis of their collective 23,000 responses was released this Tuesday, revealing how what couple’s have in the bank can affect what happens in the bedroom.

Respondents confessed to a wide range of money secrets, including lying about purchases, hiding them in the back of the closet and secretly withdrawing money from joint accounts.

Also notable, however, was the ridiculous stock photo the Guardian used for the article (shown above). Very realistic, guys. That photo looks more like two wrestlers standing off before a match. Curiously, there are a lot of stock photos of couples fighting over money that don’t resemble anything close to real life — and a disturbingly high percentage of them feature couples playing tug of war over actual bills.
