Yikes: 37% Of People Rarely (Or Never!) Check Their Credit Score [INFOGRAPHIC]

It’s a data point that stretches the bounds of credulity, considering how integral credit scores are to basic things in life, like buying a car or renting an apartment. But a new study shows that a heaping portion of the population may rarely — if ever — take a peek at that pesky credit score.
The report (from Credit Card Compare) surveyed Australians only, but its unsettling findings are likely applicable to much of the credit-having population. In fact, as of 2011, just 50 percent of Americans reportedly checked their credit score in the last year. Let’s pick up, gang. The bottom line: If you haven’t done it lately, check your credit score, stat.
