Worst Bosses Ever Force Bride To Work On Her Wedding Day
9:30 am, October 3rd | by Laura Donovan
I’ve never been married, but I do know that brides tend to be nervous the morning of their big day. Make them go to work and they’d probably be the most stressful entities in the world.
But that didn’t appear to be the case for Zhang Yu, a highway toll manager who clocked in at work mere hours before her nuptials. The woman, who wore her wedding gown on the job, had planned to take an entire week off until her higher-ups canceled all leave due to increased motorist traffic for this week’s Moon Festival holiday. She didn’t duck out until lunchtime, when her own motorcade rolled through the toll and picked her up. Hey, she had a wedding to get to, and it was hers. Think of the whole scenario as a significantly less glamorous Cinderella story.
If I were in her shoes, I’d be livid and tell my bosses to just figure it out, but Yu had a far better attitude about the whole thing, and that could explain why she fulfilled her duties with a smile that day. She’s also a very dedicated worker. The last thing she wanted to do was leave her place of employment in a bind:
“It was a tough week for everyone so I couldn’t let down all the people I work with.”
Employee of the year, anyone?
