Stop Dropping F-Bombs At Work, Before You Get Fired

Oh, S#!&.

In case you weren’t fully aware, gratuitous cursing, swearing and all-around salty talk is a Bad Thing for your career. Shocked? Then it’s probably too f*cking late for you.

A new CareerBuilder report shows that 64 percent of employers think less favorably of employees whose vocabulary emphasizes words of the four-letter variety, according to Fox Business. Sadly, this report also showed 95 percent of employees curse in front of coworkers — and more than half curse in front of bosses. Of course, if this data were true, it’d mean everyone’s thinking really poorly of everyone else at the office all the time, which seems unlikely.

Interestingly, the younger the worker, the less likely they were to curse, the report shows. Workers aged 35 to 44 were the most likely of all the respondents in the report to claim they cursed. Those between the ages of 25 and 34 were the least likely. Obviously, something really f*cking awful happens when you turn 25.

Weirdly, I use to work for a smallish company in the Netherlands and some of my colleagues dropped the f-bomb all the time. I was totally shocked the first time I heard it. I suspect English language swears just didn’t have the same intensity as they do in the US.

By the way, did you know the National Pro-Life Alliance is advertising on your site?

No, I’m sure they had absolutely no idea.

I noticed that too. I guess they don’t care to correct their errors.
