Dane Cook To Play Misogynist DJ At Odds With Feminist Co-Worker In New Pilot
4:30 pm, March 1st | by Hillary Reinsberg
Dane Cook, the comedian whose lines from standup routines are plastered on frat guys’ Facebook “quotes” section, has a new show! He’ll co-star in a “gender” comedy about a radio host who shares the air with a feminist. Cook’s macho character will apparently be less than a fan of his lady co-worker.
According to The Hollywood Reporter: ”Cam Doherty, a brash alpha male DJ and his feminist co-host set in the office of a satellite radio station. Cook will play Cam, the disheveled, unshaven, hung-over and purposely detached magnetic grouch who doesn’t like that his co-host is a woman.”
Sounds like a super charming character!
Collette Wolfe, who has appeared in such critically-acclaimed masterpieces as Hot Tub Time Machine and 17 Again, will play the “feminist” co-host alongside Cook.
Radio, of all media mediums, has something of a reputation for being a boys’ club that tolerates (or at least turns a blind eye) to sexism. This could be interesting.
