Tosh Half-Heartedly Apologizes For Rape Joke
9:30 am, July 11th | by Laura Donovan
Yesterday we reported on comedian Daniel Tosh’s joke about the possibility of a heckling audience member at his show getting gang raped, and the celebrity has since issued a public apology.
After one woman’s blog post about her awful interaction with Tosh exploded on the Internet, the “Tosh.0″ host took to Twitter and wrote, “all the out of context misquotes aside, i’d like to sincerely apologize.”
I’m not sure what’s “out of context” in the woman’s post, especially since she explains that Tosh had been saying that rape can be funny before their spat began, but I digress. Tosh’s second tweet on the topic reads as such, “the point i was making before i was heckled is there are awful things in the world but you can still make jokes about them. #deadbabies”
That I’ll agree with, minus the #deadbabies thing. I don’t think he should be stoned to death for this, but you can probably expect him to make a similar joke in the future. Effective comedy material is hard to come by, bro.
