Don Draper Would Make Less Than $100K A Year Today [INFOGRAPHIC]

Eighty thousand dollars a year sounds amazing even to teens of today, so “Mad Men” character Don Draper would seem like a high-paid guy.
A new infographic reveals that the wealthy ad agency creative director of the 60s would earn the equivalent of $80 grand a year these days. The people below him, however, such Peggy Olsen and Pete Campbell, would take home a lot less. The secretary position only brings in $34,600 per year and an account exec would rake in a little more than $45,000 annually. Not a ton, but good even by 2012 standards — especially for entry level workers and 20-somethings! Bottom line: Don Draper would never be hurting for cash. End of story.
