EOD Roundup: An Insane James Franco Monologue From ‘Spring Breakers

In today’s EOD roundup, it should be fairly clear by now that we have some intense feelings for Spring Breakers and most of them can be summed by one elongated “yes” followed by an exorbitant amount of exclamation points. From this point on, if you are able to recite James Franco’s “Look at my sheeyit” monologue from Spring Breakers, you are qualified to work here.** [Vulture]

**That’s not true; I don’t have the authority to make that true…but you will be qualified to be my friend!

Your new anthem, courtesy of Bey (obviously). [Iam.Beyonce]

Want to know how much actresses get paid to attend fashion events? You don’t. You really don’t. Well, okay — have a drink and then click here and then have another drink while shouting about how ridiculous it is. Don’t worry, we feel you. [Fashionologie]

Learn about Femen, “the bare-breasted punk activists” devoted to “attacking patriarchy, in all its forms: the dictatorship, the church, the sex industry.” [Slate]

Even the magic industry is afflicted with a glass ceiling? WHEN WILL IT END? …Has David Blaine been living in that glass ceiling without food and water for a month? Will there be an ABC special about it? [The Atlantic]

The beyonce song is awful but I get that everyone has different tastes, the lyrics are the worst part though. I understand the argument that some women want to “own” the word bitch so it can’t be used against us but when it’s used in the same line as “bow down” in a song that later talks about slapping “that trick” it’s really not empowering or helping to unite women in any way. It’s certainly not my new anthem and I’m pretty surprised to see it described that way on this site. Funny how Sheryl Sandberg gets criticized for offering working women advice but it is totally fine for beyonce to declare herself royalty while calling fans bitches.
