8 Fashion Trends From NYFW You Can Sport in the Office This Spring

Though it is hard to imagine it will ever get warmer (please oh please, let it get warmer), spring is just around the corner. New York Fashion Week just wrapped up and reminded us that this season is coming and we need to be dressed well for it.
We looked at the
biggest trends from the runways and found some that you can rock at work (though it depends on what kind of office you work in). Here are 8 trends you should keep in mind for work this spring!
1.Black and white
Forget flowers, spring 2013 is all about the mod look. Nothing says "power woman" like a strong black and white ensemble.
2.Luxe leather pieces
No need to go all S&M in the office, but a piece here and there can't hurt. For more laid back offices, rock the pants with a nice blouse. Otherwise, opt for leather accents.
Okay, maybe skip the striped crop top for the office, but that skirt is fabulous and would look great with a blouse.
We are seeing a lot of Indian, Middle Eastern and Russian influences in fashion this spring. Just don't get caught on anything!
These dresses are so fun and totally work appropriate. Spring 2013 is all about the A-line skirts and shoulder-showcasing bodices.
These are for the more casual office, but of all the styles of short bermudas are the most business-friendly. They're practically pants!
The Olsen twins can rejoice! Don't wear them in your office but definitely rock them on the way to work, as well as when you leave for the day and the sun is still out (we are counting down the days).
8.Flats and low heels
This spring is all about power flats. Even though
30 Rock’s Avery Jessup once said “Flats are for quitters,” we think flats are also for powerful women who want to be able to walk when they are 80. The Wall Street Journal’s fashion expert Christina Brinkley says the "flat is making a play for power,” and we are going to be seeing them in more boardrooms. Our own feet are psyched.
