Pitifully Few Women Leading FT’s Europe 500 Companies
5:00 pm, December 21st | by Amy Tennery
We already knew that women were rather underrepresented on the Fortune 500. Turns out, things are just as non-lady-ish (yes, a word) over on the Financial Times Europe 500.
There are nine, count ‘em, nine female CEOs on the Financial Times Europe 500, according to Catalyst. By its calculation, that means around 1.8 percent of the CEOs at the FT 500 are women.
Keep in mind that Norway, Belgium, France, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain all have quotas for women on corporate boards so… shouldn’t these be the more progressive, woman-inclusion-y people? Right?
