Why You Should Buy “Feminist Ryan Gosling” Book Over “Fifty Shades Of Grey”

With many people snagging book deals these days, it was only a matter of time before viral Tumblr “Feminist Ryan Gosling” upgraded to print form. Now that the meme site will have its own book, bound by more than 100 photos of the well-loved “Notebook” actor’s face alongside “funny feminist text,” it’s probably time to put away your copy of “Fifty Shades of Grey” in favor of something different.
I know the “Fifty Shades” trilogy and “Feminist Ryan Gosling” book are completely different entities, but given Gosling’s rise to the top of the Hollywood scene and the eventual decrease in sales for “Fifty Shades” (something else will take off and blow up soon enough), it’s best to start digging around for a replacement — or at least something to hold you over until author E.L. James announces whether she will pen another book about Christian Grey. Besides, Ryan Gosling stops street fights and saves women from taxis. What has control freak Grey done other than purchase his desired sex slave, Anastasia Steele a car, which he only buys because he cannot stand the looks of her initial vehicle, and a laptop, which he expects her to use constantly so she can promptly respond to his 10 million emails? Sure Grey redeems himself and proves he’s more than just an egotistical, entitled, domineering rich dude throughout the series, but Gosling is a real person, and he wouldn’t spank a girl senselessly for rolling her eyes at him during a completely non-sexual encounter. Let’s cheer on another guy and go crazy over a different type of book for the time being.
