6 Absurd Actor And Actress Suggestions for ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie

Everyone has an opinion on E.L. James’s sexy “Fifty Shades” series, and people have been especially vocal about their thoughts on who should play main characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation. I’m on Team Ian Somerhalder for the role of Grey, but I don’t understand many other lead suggestions. “American Psycho” writer Bret Easton Ellis has said he wants to work on the movie, but his actor preferences were downright bizarre: Lena Dunham, Scarlett Johansson, or Kristen Stewart to portray naive recent college grad Steele. He either hasn’t read the trilogy or just wants attention because those ladies, although lovely as can be, are not right for the part. Here are some suggestions that must go ignored.

1.Selena Gomez

Singer Selena Gomez may have done the "Fifty Shades of Grey" spoof, but she told MTV News that she wouldn't be interested in actually appearing in the flick as Anastasia Steele. "I know I'm taking risks but I don't think I could do that," she said. "That would be a little too much for me." We agree.

2.Lena Dunham

Ellis suggested Dunham for the role of Anastasia Steele, but the "Girls" creator is far too funny to play the rather empty character.

3.Scarlett Johansson

Ellis thinks ScarJo could be a solid Anastasia Steele, but methinks the actress lacks the naivete we see in the fictional character.

4.Ryan Gosling

Ellis says Ryan Gosling would make a good Christian Grey, but as I noted last week, the Canadian actor just isn't creepy enough to be unpredictable, sometimes volatile Grey.

5.Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson

No guys, we do not need another "Twilight."

You should do your research–”50 Shades” is exactly that–repackaged Twilight fanfiction. The original characters’ names were Edward and Bella. Of course none of that matters as PattiNson (also try SpellCheck) and Stewart wouldn’t be interested. In fact, I’ll be amazed if a movie truly based on the book (i.e, NC-17 or X) ever gets off the ground.

I used to think it was a tragedy that so many people were illiterate…now I’m inclined to think that was a blessing if it means I’ll have to suffer 50 Shades of Grey for the next three years (or however long it would take to get the movie up and running). Why do people read shit?
