Fellas, Take Note: Flowers Really Are The Key To A Woman’s Heart

In this day and age, grand gestures don’t appeal to everyone, but presenting a woman with a bouquet of roses could win a lady over, so don’t eschew tradition just yet. New research reveals that flowers may be enough to make a budding romance blossom.

I always though sweets are the portal to a lady’s heart, but it looks like flowers hold that title. As The Telegraph puts it:

Psychologists has [sic] dicovered that the presence of flowers make women significantly more receptive to men’s advances, even when the flowers are in the background rather than presented as a gift.

Through the study, researchers found that women were much likelier to respond well to men outside a flower store than a shoe shop or cake venue. That last bit makes little sense to me, as cake is edible and flowers just look nice and pretty until they wilt away and die (I know, so cynical!), but it’s all about the environment, say the people involved with the study.

“The results confirm the effect of exposure to flowers on receptivity to romantic request,” the researchers wrote. According to Newser, psych expert says the results are “consistent with the phenomenon known as behavioral priming. That is where ‘cues’ in your environment can lead you to behave in ways that are consistent with that environment.”

In other words, guys everywhere would be insane not to give the girl of their dreams a batch of daisies when trying to woo her (*hint hint*).
