7:00 pm, January 23rd | by Hillary Reinsberg
Petrobras, the Brazilian company that boasts the highest market cap in Latin America, announced Maria das Gracas Foster as its new CEO today. Following the announcement, Brazil’s stock index hit an eight-month high.
Foster currently runs the company’s gas and energy division, and before that, she headed up the fuel distribution division, Bloomberg reports.
It seems Foster scored the promotion for a couple reasons, namely for her long technical experience with the company, the success of her divisions, and her strong relationship with Brazil’s female president Dilma Rousseff.
