FOX’s Keith Ablow Not Down With Guys And Dolls
3:30 pm, November 29th | by Carmen Shardae Jobson
So we gotta start making a list and checking it twice with not only Santa this year, but Keith Ablow. As the resident quasi-Dr. Phil of FOX News, during an episode of Fox & Friends, Ablow offered a unique perspective on a viewer’s question about the a young boy playing with dolls. He said that the concerned viewer”s sister-in-law who had given the boy the doll was “nuts,” demanding “What’s so bad about kids being able to be masculine and feminine?”
Ablow went on to call the act of boys playing with dolls “gender bending,” shedding light on an unfortunate double standard: it’s cool to be interested in “boy stuff” as a girl, but not the other way around. It’s clearly Ablow’s loss that he never got the chance to hang out with Astronaut Barbie or do anything outside the small box of “masculinity.” If he had, perhaps he would have felt differently and been a little more open-minded about the ways in which other parents allow their kids to play.
