I Want To Be In A Book Club With This Hilarious 6-Year-Old Girl

This mom’s definition of “classics” is a little broad (she admits as much), given that she includes Fifty Shades Of Grey on this list, but it’s all worth it to read her 6-year-old daughter’s descriptions of classic novels, based solely on their covers. Spoiler alert: it’s amazing. You should really go through the whole list, which includes The Great Gatsby, Fahrenheit 451, and The Catcher In The Rye, but here are a couple of highlights:
On Jane Eyre:
“This is about a girl that goes mining. I don’t know why, but she looks like she would go mining, mining for gold. ”
On Moby Dick:
“I’ve heard about it before but I have no idea what it is about. I think that on the cover it is an inside out whale (so it’s gross). The book is all about a whale whose name is Moby Dick.”
And of course, on Fifty Shades of Grey:
“On the cover is a very weird looking Zebra. The book is about a zebra that wears pants. It’s a drama book about this zebra guy who likes to go fishing for aces.”
Can I be in a book club with this girl? We would have to work around her primary school schedule, but since our meetings would consist solely of her explaining the plots based on the cover illustrations, there wouldn’t be a whole lot of required reading.
