Gen Y’ers More Willing Than Any Other Generation To Take Big Pay Cut For Work Flexibility [INFOGRAPHIC]

If you’re new to the workforce and suffering from Peter Pan Syndrome, you’re not alone. A new infographic reveals that people in the 18-34 age range are willing to sacrifice almost 14 percent of their salary for more control over their schedules, and that’s more than any other generation is willing to give up for flexibility. Hey, us young folks don’t want our lives to pass us by while we’re typing away in cubes.
The infographic, provided by Mom Corps, reports that nearly half of Gen Y’ers would take a pay cut for more freedom at the office, and you know it’s true. Your body can handle less sleep and wild vacations at a young age better than later in life, and why not seize the opportunity while you still have the energy to enjoy it? More than fifty percent of working adults believe that they’d be more productive with the option of telecommuting, and 52 percent of people said they’d start their own business if it meant achieving a better work-life balance. Sounds like all we really want to do is live to the fullest and not make everything about our professions. Time to start acting on our desires.
