Yikes: Two-Thirds Of You Will Get Your Next Job Through Facebook [Infographic]


Attention all job shoppers: Your Facebook account could be the key to finding that perfect new gig.

A staggering new report shows just how crucial social media is to job recruitment today. Roughly two-thirds of U.S. companies polled said they actively use Facebook to search potential employees, according to new data crunched by Jobvite. Unsurprisingly, LinkedIn still dominates the social media job hunt, with 93 percent of the study’s respondents reporting that they use the site for recruitment.

On the one hand, this is good news — you could be counting on Facebook to help you land your next job! On the other hand, you could be counting on Facebook to help you land your next job. Time to scrub that account.

    Yeah, so says……Facebook.  This is a misinterpretation.  It is like saying people get  their jobs from background checks.  No, they are actually PREVENTED employment that way.  Facebook primarily serves that purpose now.
