Hillary Clinton Wears Lime Green At The G20 — While Everyone Else Wears White
2:30 pm, February 21st | by Laura Donovan
We’ve never personally met Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, but we can imagine she was encouraged to stand out in the crowd as a kid.
The former first lady was certainly unique at the recent G20 Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Cabo, where she donned a lime green suit for the “family photo.” Placed in the front row, the former New York senator’s vibrant, colorful outfit set her apart from the rest of the 20+ person group, as everyone else sported white button-ups. While Clinton’s stark difference could have easily embarrassed her, she wore an amused expression for the camera and appears to have laughed off the otherwise socially awkward situation.
The fashion flub may not have been Clinton’s fault either. According to The Daily Mail, the State Department was “unable to identify a dress code which the Secretary of State had missed,” so the white shirt memo may have just fallen through the cracks. Kind of like the time you forgot to wear blue to school for Blue Shirt Day as your teacher assigned the entire class to do. Either way, accidents happen, and we take our hats off to Hillary Clinton for wearing what she wants, especially since she has far too often been berated for her style choices.
